The goal of the Puppy Mill Rescue Team is to save puppies who have been mistreated and abandoned. To continue its objective of helping dogs, the organization needs your assistance. To raise money, there is a shoe donation drive going on.
A 4-year-old Frenchie named Whitney was rescued from a puppy factory. She needs a new place to live. Collaborating with other canine rescue organizations, Puppy Mill Rescue Team volunteers find transport, rehab, and foster puppies like Whitney. Every two weeks, 20 to 40 dogs are saved.
Their main goal is to acquire puppies that puppy mills no longer desire because they can't sell them, breed them anymore, or they have birth defects and can't sell them.
They collaborate with rescues from Ohio to New York State and ensure that every dog is placed in a foster home before being adopted permanently, according to Jessica Ziomek of Puppy Mill Rescue.
To keep helping these pups, the team is dependent on community donations. Thanks to a new fundraising initiative, your gently worn shoes could earn you money.
They are collaborating with a group called Funds2Orgs. They make it quite simple by driving up to their house in a big truck and dropping them off with families in underdeveloped nations so they may launch their own business, claimed Ziomek.
In Rochester and Buffalo, there are several establishments with shoe collection bins. One is at Woofies in Parma.
Making pets feel and look their best is Cindy Ackerman's top priority. The donation box has been ten times overfilled by her customers.
They are hopeful they can help them a little bit. The people have been amazing. They are leaving shoe-filled bags behind. Some shoes, which have only perhaps been worn once, are still in their boxes. Thus, they will be given to some deserving Haitians, and the rescue organization will undoubtedly receive some funding to care for the dogs.
Each pair of shoes sold will go toward veterinary care, dog food, and upcoming rescue dog transports.
Up through October 10, the Puppy Mill Rescue Team is collecting shoes for their cause.
Here are a few places to drop off shoes in the greater Rochester and Buffalo area:
