48th annual Taste of Louisville helping local nonprofit

Cool Story - 48th annual Taste of Louisville helping local nonprofit

The Kentucky Restaurant Association's annual Taste of Louisville first took place in 1974, making it by far the longest-running tasting event in the city's contemporary history. The 48th edition of Taste of Louisville, a mobile feast, moves to the Mellwood Art Center (1860 Mellwood Avenue).

The Taste of Louisville is returning on Wednesday, October 12, and it's ready to tease your taste buds. To promote Louisville's fantastic food and drink culture, 25 chefs will be on hand to welcome, meet, and serve you. More than 15 different alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

We adore Taste of Louisville because it offers us the chance to introduce our restaurant to a sizable and diverse group of foodies. We get the chance to meet a lot of new people while still seeing a lot of our existing clients. People that visit the restaurant shortly after the event and mention they saw us at the Taste never fail to do so. It’s a memorable time for everyone. ― Ray Watkins, general manager of Selena's at Willow Lake Tavern

The Louisville Chapter of the Kentucky Restaurant Association has been working hard to make sure this year will be just as exciting and wonderful as years past.

Supporting neighborhood restaurants have long been a part of Gordon Food Service's DNA. This is why we are pleased to sponsor The Taste of Louisville, an annual fundraiser for the KY Restaurant Association. — Tom Enyeart, Gordon Food Service, co-chair of The Taste of Louisville and title sponsor

There will be tonnes of giving back in addition to an awesome night of sampling and drinking!

The beneficiary for 2022 is a neighborhood non-profit called Frankie's Family. One individual, who dared to help children in need, especially during the holidays, founded the organization. Numerous "adopted angels" have benefited from the assistance of Frankie Hilbert and his group. They adopted 530 Angels in total, including 430 children and 100 seniors, last year after raising more than $53,000. We are delighted to support such an important cause!

"Frankie's Family is proud to support our local community's most vulnerable members by participating in the 48th Annual Taste of Louisville. This cooperation will enable us to carry out our "Family" mission throughout the holiday season and aid so many kids who otherwise wouldn't have anything for Christmas morning! We hope to see everybody there to support this fantastic event! We cannot wait till October 12 and are so delighted.” – Frankie Hilbert, founder of Frankie's Family.
