Texas's Austin, The company GoodPop has served 1.5 million meals to those in need through its Pledge Good Foundation. 100,000 of the meals were given to the Central Texas Food Bank. Together with Feeding America, lunches were offered.
GoodPop introduced the #PledgeGood challenge to inspire people to post kind deeds on social media.
Since September of last year, GoodPop has donated a meal to Feeding America's 200 food banks, 21 national food bank associations, partner organizations, food pantries, and meal programs nationwide for each #PledgeGood post made on social media or the company's website.
The trend was discussed by GoodPop's CEO and co-founder, Daniel Goetz. They think everyone should have access to wholesome, delectable meals. To offer access to meals, proper nutrition, and food emergency aid during natural disasters, they collaborate with charitable organizations working in America. They believe that by working together with Feeding America and the Central Texas Food Bank, they will inspire people to become involved in this year's Hunger Action Month and take some sort of action. They intend to start a chain reaction that leads to improvement. Together, they can lessen the number of the more than 50 million Americans who are chronically hungry.
15 members of GoodPop, which has its headquarters in Austin, took part in Feeding America's volunteer day in August to support the neighborhood. They gave residents and families in need 150 boxes and 4,050 lbs of food, or 3,375 meals, during this occasion. Feeding America received a $25,000 grant from GoodPop to help with resources in the Austin region.
The Austin neighborhood was grateful. According to Mark Jackson, chief development officer of the Central Texas Food Bank, They're on the front lines of hunger relief, helping well over 60,000 Central Texans each week receive food when they need it.
They are incredibly appreciative of GoodPop's support for their cause. Their contribution of 100,000 meals had a significant impact. They are grateful for all that their staff has done right for the clients they serve.
By 2025, Feeding America and the Pledge Good Foundation plan to collect five million pledges.
Their purpose is to 'Pledge Good. Do Good. Feel Good.' According to Goetz, during Hunger Action Month, they hope that individuals will pledge to act by working at their food bank, hosting a fundraiser, or participating in a virtual food drive. Imagine how much good they can do if five million people promise to do a nice deed and donate to every single one of them. This mission still motivates and inspires us.
By the press release, $1 enables Feeding America, acting on behalf of food banks, to acquire at least 10 meals.
