THOUSANDS OF PAIRS OF SHOES AND SOCKS DONATED TO EASTERN KENTUCKY

Cool Story - THOUSANDS OF PAIRS OF SHOES AND SOCKS DONATED TO EASTERN KENTUCKY

Floods hit eastern Kentucky in July, stranding people in shelters.

The Samaritan's Feet organisation partnered with University of Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari, the Kentucky basketball team, and state officials to distribute shoe and socks bags on Tuesday. For flood victims, thousands of pairs of shoes and socks were distributed.

Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg and Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park in Buckhorn were both sponsored by the Calipari Foundation. For the events, Hanes Brands donated 10,000 pairs of socks.

Samaritan's Feet is a humanitarian aid organization that serves and inspires hope by providing shoes to those in need around the world. Since its founding in 2003, Samaritan's Feet and its partners have served more than 8.7 million people across 109 countries and 530 U.S. cities.

Volunteer or Donate The Samaritan's Website, help people access more shoes around the world.
