Lillah Welfare Society-Making Community Leaders and Heroes

Cool Story - Lillah Welfare Society-Making Community Leaders and Heroes

Pakistan is a country with most of its population facing poverty. They have limited access to food health and education. A lot of help is needed to bring these people towards a dignified form of life where they can fulfill their basic needs.

Lillah Welfare Society is one nongovernmental, nonprofitable, nonpolitical social welfare group started by students in 2018 in the city of Multan. 3 pass-out students including CEO Nauman Akhtar were the first members with more students joining later. They are based on volunteer groups with the main aim to promote leadership in the youth to serve their mission of helping the common people, especially the destitute. They wanted the youth to be problem solvers instead of sitting around doing nothing. Its mission is to create a change in society where people solve their own community problems so that even the poor can live a dignified life provided with proper food education access to health care and home. Initially, they were situated in Multan but now they have spread to other cities of Pakistan as well including Lahore and Islamabad.

They create groups that volunteer regularly in ration drives, provide school supplies to children, give away clothes to orphanages during religious festivals and do charity drives during for supplies and clothes for winter. They’ve been supporting education costs for a school since their founding.

To this day Lillah has provided 25 education services, and 35 health services, distributed monthly rations 35 times, and arranged 75 blood donation camps. Their main success has been in arranging blood donation camps. Many times, they’ve arranged for blood donation camps in different parts of the city with most being set up in universities. They visit old homes as well and distribute rations to needy families, especially during the month of Ramadan. Each time they do a ration drive they provide for at least 10-20 families for the month.

During Ramadan, the Multan branch set up Iftar and Sahoor food drives where many people were provided with meals. In addition to distributing meals, they also distributed ration bundles to extremely low-income families. Since Ramadan is a month of blessings and is celebrated with the spirit of giving and charity Lillah seeks to help more people. During Eid they distribute gifts and clothes to orphanages as well.

They collect their donations from within the organization itself with the first contributors being their families. They’ve also been keeping track of their donations as well as the spending. They keep records for their long-term plans since they want to be registered with the government soon. A person who has great ideas to help their area can take it up to the members and they will support the person. So, at the end of the day, their goal is to produce good leaders in the community who can bring solutions to the people, who can be pillars of support to the community, and who can inspire like-minded individuals in their plans to help people live better lives.

If you want to give a donation to Lillah Welfare Society, contact them on this number +(92) 313 6090510. Your volunteering will also be much appreciated. Your donations could help feed a family, educate children, and help a wounded in critical need.
