All children around the world deserve to grow up in a loving, nurturing environment. However, there are many children in today’s world who are orphaned or face other issues. These orphaned children deserve the same love that children with parents have. Brittany's Hope is a non-profit organization looking to make a difference in the lives of these children. It’s not just about providing children with basic needs. Brittany's Hope works to give these children constant support and resources they will need all their lives. There are many programs and methods this organization has implemented to help these at-risk children, such as financial grants. Brittany's Hope works primarily with children in Vietnam, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Each year, they help 33 children find their way to loving families.
All over the world, there are 140 million children who are considered to be orphaned. 385 million of these children suffer from poverty, which is a major cause of children becoming orphaned. Poverty leads to other issues, like malnutrition and lack of education. Half of all children under five will die of malnutrition. Malnutrition also causes health issues and delays in a child’s development. Being an orphan in poverty means a child is more likely to face exploitation. Abuse, labor, and being sold as sex slaves are only some of the horrible crimes committed against these children. Poverty is a vicious cycle that will only repeat itself if someone doesn't intervene. Brittany's Hope uses their programs and resources(with the help of generous donations) to support these children and give them a brighter future.
One way that Brittany's Hope makes a difference is by sponsoring children. There are lots of different ways these children are given support. $17 a month provides a child with clean water and nutritious food. $27 a month allows Brittany's Hope to keep children and families together using methods like food relief. $70 a month will help to put a child through college or trade school.
Brittany's Hope has also provided specific support based on the needs of children in Vietnam, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Despite a growth of modernization, families still suffer from poverty in Vietnam. Brittany's Hope formed a collaboration with the House of Love in 2005, to provide support to a group of orphaned children in Vietnam. Poverty is also very common in Kenya, as well as child abandonment. Starting in 2013, Brittany's Hope has supported humanitarian programs in Kenya, so their children can have an education and succeed in life. In Ethiopia, many different crises have left the African country in dire need of help. In 2010, Brittany's Hope has provided support for the valuable children of Ethiopia.
Child separation often occurs because of family crises. Poverty forces families to surrender their children to the care of an orphanage. Brittany's Hope knows the difficulties of dealing with these issues, so they’re committed to supporting these children through their programs. They also work to reunite families with their children(if possible), and increase the strength of families, so separation doesn’t occur in the first place. Community support is provided in the way of housing, food relief, clean water, and health care. Brittany's Hope will also support a child’s education through scholarships and school supplies. Providing this support early on ensures that families will stay together and children will grow up in a loving home.
If you want to help Brittany's Hope with their mission, you should donate. 100 percent of the money you give will be used to help the children in the organization's life-changing programs. You can rest assured knowing your gift has made a difference. To donate to Brittany's Hope, click here: https://www.brittanyshope.org/donate/?prefill=header_donate.
