Malaysians have praised a video showing a police sergeant sprang into action to rescue a kitten from under a moving vehicle on a busy road.
The cat was trapped in the automobile tire of a white Perodua Myvi at a traffic light junction in front of Aman Sentral in Alor Setar, Kedah. The incident was captured on camera and published on TikTok by user @sinwanghqbkh.
He was observed coming closer, directing the Myvi's driver to turn to the left, and then stooping down to try to grab the kitten from the tyre.
Just as the traffic light turned green, Effendi managed to save the kitten after several failed attempts and bring it to a safe location on the side of the road.
The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) then shared the video on their official Facebook page, applauding the officer from the Transport (Technical) Unit of the Kedah Police Contingent for saving the kitty.
"Doing good deeds is not only towards humans but also toward the creatures God has created."
While reposting the video, PDRM commented, "May the admirable action demonstrated by him serve as an inspiration for fellow members."
The cop receives praise for his deed of generosity in the comments area.
"There must be someone who complains about the traffic in a situation like this. However, the truth is that we unknowingly saved a life in that circumstance. The user @Pak Man expressed gratitude to everybody who showed concern during the tragedy.
@Hatimin Ttr, another user, wrote: "Alhamdulillah, the heart of this person is truly noble, the best indeed."
