Help flooded quickly when the Donovan Law in Yumav announced a donation drive for Maui fire victims. "Yuma is connected to people all across the globe. We are a military community, and folks who were formerly stationed in Honolulu are now in Yuma. We know folks who are spreading the word about the base. Therefore, even though this area resembles a small town, Allysia Dorman, the office manager at Donovan Law, noted, "We are such a connected place."
Since she was ten years old, according to Dorman, she has been visiting Lahaina. Simply put, it's a special spot. Last year, I took my kids there so they could experience Front Street and simply take in the fresh Lahaina air. It seemed only fitting to launch a donation drive because the receptionist at their company has a family in Lahaina who lost their home.
According to Dorman, folks began giving what they could. On Wednesday morning, they sent out their initial delivery. For the impacted residents to purchase food and gas, they delivered boxes of new clothing, shoes, toiletries, and even gift cards. Everything was sent to a buddy of the law company who is working on the ground in Maui. We know people in Wailuku. She provided us with her address, so we are mailing right to a local Mauian who is hard at work there. She is extraordinary because she travels from village to village and delivers meals to a homeless camp, according to Dorman.
Local UPS locations, including one in Phoenix, contributed free shipping labels, and a second cargo will be sent to Maui, according to Dorman. Additionally, a GoFundMe page is available for donations. According to Dorman, the funds will be used for direct Amazon shipping.
