The Woodlands Middle School in the suburban Lake Worth area hosts the nine-week summer program known as the Student-Athlete (STAMP).
The organization's mission is to empower and inspire young people to become leaders, activists, and forward-thinkers in their communities. Their goal is to raise future leaders via sports, education, community service, and mentoring.
200 of the children will receive three outfits, a pair of Nike shoes, a backpack full of school materials, and "fresh and fly" haircuts to help them feel more confident.
Low-income families, children in foster care, or pupils from the Department of Justice make up the student body.
Mark Morrison, a musician best known for his song "Return of the Mack," bought 33 pairs of shoes at the Mall at Wellington Green last week.
According to the organization, 127 more pairs of shoes are required.
According to STAMP creator Mark Brown, "We hope to send them back to school prepared, pressed, and dressed."
