At a public event held in Kalyandurg, in the Anantapuramu district, as part of the Dr. YSR Free Crop Insurance Scheme, the Chief Minister announced the transfer of the cash.
"Whenever I think of my father, Rajasekhar Reddy, I recall his responses to farmers.” According to a state government press release, Reddy recalled his father's pro-poor initiatives when he led united Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009: "I remember free power, Jalayagnam, Aarogyasri schemes that benefit farmers and the poor, 104, 108, and the sound of the ambulance."
The Chief Minister also mentioned the fee reimbursement program, the thousands of low-income housing units developed, and numerous other initiatives that serve as a constant reminder of the sterling reputation Rajasekhar Reddy has built.
Reddy noted that various programs under the agricultural, health, and housing sectors have been named after his father (Dr. YSR), even if the former CM may not be physically present.
Regarding the crop insurance that is supplied to farmers, Reddy explained that this compensation is granted to qualified farmers who had losses during the Kharif season of the previous year around the time that sowing in the current year begins.
