Since late fall, a Tennessee-based nonprofit has visited Kentucky twice.
Almost 50 people of all ages make up the Work Loving God Inc. group, and they have returned to aid flood victims in their efforts to rebuild.
"Even these folks, who were in such dreadful situations, held onto their religion despite their best efforts, with white knuckles.” According to Stephen Burkhart, the company's founder, we believed that if they were holding on, we should do the same.
Burkhart realized the need for assistance in Eastern Kentucky was still present after spending a few months back in Tennessee.
Many individuals have assembled right now to do precisely that.
"It's impossible to identify who's from Tennessee, Mississippi, or Pennsylvania. The bloodline that emanates from the cross of Jesus Christ is the sole bloodline we are following,” according to Burkhart.
Volunteer Kris Sheffield owns a gutter business in the Pennsylvania tri-state region, but he was moved to volunteer in Eastern Kentucky with his staff.
"I honestly can't say enough positive things about everyone here.” Kris Sheffield stated, "You know, the Lord simply laid upon us to help others and to bring other people with us.”
As part of their assistance efforts, Michael Binder, who is also from Pennsylvania, has been in charge of overseeing the construction of a Mount Carmel Schoolhouse.
“We're trying to finish the exterior plasterboard while also replacing the siding on the outside and closing a lot of windows. As you can see, we've constructed a sizable deck out back," remarked Michael Binder.
But above all of that, they exist to serve God.
According to the Bible, giving brings greater delight than receiving, Michael Binder remarked.
