Luke Coelho, a senior from Brazil who is 17 years old, recently transferred to Worcester's South High Community School. Due to Worcester's chilly climate, he needed some new garments. He received help from the school's clothing donation program, Andy's Attic, to purchase nice clothes for the winter. Luke was thrilled to have something to keep him warm when he put on the new jacket that had been provided. Yet, he would soon come to understand that the old garment was much more priceless and valuable than he had originally thought. The coat pocket included two Gucci watches, a bracelet, and two diamond rings, according to CBS. Although the teen didn't know whose it was, he or she was quite anxious to return their things.
The only information Luke and his aunt Taryn Souza had was the name on the jacket and the name of a company that no longer existed, even though they knew they had to restore these priceless things to their original owners. I work from home, and that morning I didn't do any work because I was so fixated on getting this back, said Souza. The two were eventually able to determine that the jacket was donated by Dave Kenney who was clearing out his house after making several calls and conducting some research.
I had no idea what was in the jacket, but it contained some pricey items, said Kenney. Because it turns out that the items found inside the jacket have far greater significance than first thought, Kenney was emotionally overpowered. Kenney has endured a difficult year. He recently lost his wife and mother. It was the wedding band I gave to my wife, said Kenney. The fact that my daughters received their mother's belongings back "meant the world."
The jewels that were discovered inside the jacket belonged to the recently deceased significant woman in his life. Luke was happy to be able to assist someone in reuniting with belongings that have such strong emotional connections to them after their meeting went so well. Giving it back, in a sense, filled a void in his heart, according to Luke. Luke said, "Like a week of blessings."
As a thank-you, Dave found Luke a job, but more importantly, the teen's good deeds sparked the formation of a new friendship. The proper thing was done by both his aunt and this great young man, Kenney added. "I sincerely appreciate everything they did for my family and me." Dave even praised Luke's nice deed in a Facebook post about him. "There are nice people in the world, and because I've needed some encouragement lately, I'd want to especially thank this young man and his aunt. My wife's wedding band and other jewelry were discovered in the pockets of a donation I made to Andy's Attic, and this young man went above and above to return them to me "Dave."
The speaker closed by saying, "The world needs more people like you. Luke is an exchange student from Brazil, a senior at South High School, and plans to join the Marine Corps when he graduates.”
