Celebrating an early Christmas with need South Texas children | Good Things Happen

Cool Story - Celebrating an early Christmas with need South Texas children | Good Things Happen

KENS 5 collaborated with Hermann Sons to surprise TruLight 127 Ministries' children.

It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. One nonprofit that works to help foster children in South Texas recently called on the community to act.

TruLight 127 Ministries, based in Seguin, is looking for community support to continue assisting disadvantaged children.

"We are mostly asking for a miracle and prayers because I do not want to have to say no to children for an extended period," said Sondra Ajasin, founder, and CEO of TruLight 127.

Hermann Sons, a San Antonio organization, answered the call and gave Ajasin's ministry $7,500 to continue serving local youngsters. KENS 5 wanted to contribute as well, so we requested Santa to come early and bring some Christmas gifts to some of TruLight's children.

Since its inception in 1950, KENS 5 has worked to be the best and most trusted source of news and entertainment for generations of San Antonians.

KENS 5 was the first local station in South Texas to have a helicopter, the first to have its Doppler radar, and the first to broadcast a local morning news program.

KENS 5 has attempted to enhance local news throughout the years. Our cameras have been the lens that has brought history into the homes of local viewers. As we continue to serve San Antonians, we are proud of our history.

Today, KENS 5 continues to set the bar in local media and is acknowledged for excellence and creativity by its peers. KENS 5 News focuses on stories that are important to our community.

KENS 5 is now available in more places than ever before, including KENS5.com, the KENS 5 app, the KENS 5 YouTube channel, the KENS 5 Roku, and Fire TV apps, and on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Do you want to contact someone at KENS 5? You can contact them through their Contacts page or by emailing one of their team members.
