During the 2022 Scouting for Food campaign, neighborhood Scouts in Oakland County gathered more than 46,000 pounds of food.
Scouts gave customized shopping bags to houses around Oakland County between November 5 and November 13 and then went back a week later to collect items on behalf of numerous charities. A large portion of the food was sent to drop sites run by Gleaners Community Food Bank.
According to Kevin Lauro, who oversaw a Gleaners drop site in Novi, "Scouts that participate are walking away with a lesson, not just about the need for good actions, but also about the pleasant feeling that comes from helping your neighbors."
