The Farm to Table (aux) fundraiser for The Haven, an organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people with special abilities, featured Halfacre Construction Co. as the $10,000 Silver Cape Sponsor. Halfacre Construction Co. is a commercial construction company with offices in Lakewood Ranch.
On October 29, a gala was held at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, raising almost $200,000 for the charity. At the event, attendees enjoyed farm-to-table fare, raffles, beverages, and an auction.
Donations will support initiatives aimed at giving people with disabilities, especially those enrolled in The Haven's residential program, the highest possible quality of life.
The American Red Cross has received an $800,000 donation from Mattamy Homes to help areas in Florida affected by Hurricane Ian.
On November 3, the cheque was given out in the Wellen Park Welcome Center. Wellen Park, a master-planned neighborhood next to North Port, an area that was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian, is owned by Mattamy Homes.

The Children's Diaper Program, which provides diapers and wet wipes to needy mothers in Manatee County, received $5,000 from the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund.
Since 1998, Stillpoint Mission has assisted the less fortunate in our neighborhood with necessities like food, clothing, hygiene products, diapers, and limited financial support for utilities.
