Building a better world with Build-A-Bears

Cool Story - Building a better world with Build-A-Bears

Kittrick Bley wants to improve the world and make children smile. Build a Better World was founded by Howard's mother of three after she came up with ideas for how to spread optimism throughout the pandemic.

Bley remarked, "It was like a light bulb went out." "I simply believed that this was ideal. Given how fun it is for youngsters to visit Build-A-Bear, perhaps I can purchase a large number of them."

Her charitable organization seeks to donate Build-A-Bear stuffed animals to deserving families. She receives the bears as gifts from other residents whom she communicates with on Facebook.

She retrieves the bears, takes out the filling, and takes them to Build-A-Bear to acquire new stuffing. According to Bley, "unstuffing" takes the longest amount of time, requiring three to four hours for about 20 bears.

Build a Better World also receives contributions from Annie Gajewski. She founded Sew Beary Cute Boutique, a company that turns used clothing into memory bears. She employs her talents to create one-of-a-kind clothes for Bley's bears.

Gajewski stated, "When I learned what she was doing, I promised to help in any way I could. "As a mother of three, I am aware of how challenging some years may be. Some of these children are unable to go construct a bear."

When everything is done, Bley visits churches and community organizations with the bears. She is assisting Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Ashwaubenon this year. She has previously taken her bears to Green Bay's Freedom House and Golden House.

She has already given away 141 bears, and this holiday season she intends to reach 100 families.

It's just a bear, but on Christmas Day, it makes a significant difference to them, Bley said.

From November 16 until November 18, Bley will collaborate with Scooter's Coffee on a bear drive. People can donate their used Build-A-Bears at any Scooter's Coffee location in Green Bay for a chance to win a gift card.

In light of her ultimate goal of creating a better society, Bley said she is eager to see her organization flourish and hopes to engage more people.

The world simply needs more joy and goodness, Bley declared. Doing nice things, no matter how tiny, is crucial, therefore you should start with the children when they are young.
